One of the best flashlights you'll find out there. A bit more money than some, but definitely worth every penny. This light is tough as nails and carried by many US soldiers. Batteries have a long run time and carry a ten year shelf life.

If your lost in the woods or elsewhere, you're going to need a way to find your way out. Don't settle for the cheaper and inferior compasses as they tend to lose their accuracy after being bounced around in a pack over time. The tritium illuminates this compass battery free for over ten years.

Use this fire starter with some cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly or some dryer lint and you'll have a fire in no time. I'm also a fan of the Swedish Firesteel but the Blastmatch can be operated one handed in the event you are injured.

A knife is an integral part of any survival gear. This knife is a great choice. I prefer a straight edge blades rather than serrated because they are easier to sharpen in the field. This knife can easily chop wood as well as perform other camp tasks. Due to its heft, it is a bit heavier than other knives. However, hold this knife and you know you have on durable tool in your hands.

Probably the best multitool around. One of my favorite features are the locking blades (something the Swiss Army Knives don't have). Very durable and tons of uses. You can also get additional bits to use with the screwdriver tool.
