Arc Rise FantasiaArc Rise Fantasia
Buy new: $29.95 / Used from: $18.48
The team that brought us Tales of Symphonia are on a mission to bring back the traditional J-pop RPG. They even have turn based battles.
OpoonaOpoona
Buy new: $15.26 / Used from: $4.99
Random battles and stubby characters. Opoona looks to have the traditional J-pop RPG all wraped up. Not sure how Arc Rise Fantasia tops that.
Monado: Beginning of the WorldMonado: Beginning of the World
This game is coming to North America in Summer 2012 as a GameStop exclusive. It will be called Xenoblade, not Monado I hear.
Tales Of Symphonia: Dawn of the New WorldTales Of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Buy new: $25.49 / Used from: $18.04
I don't think they've made any good Tales of games since Tales of Destiny on the PSX. But, good news! If you don't agree, you can order this action RPG for your Wii right now!
Shiren The WandererShiren The Wanderer
Buy new: $37.25 / Used from: $12.80
This would have been better on the PSP or 3DS. Has anyone ever played Dragon Crystal on the Game Gear? It's like the same game and it worked better on a small screen.
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's DungeonFinal Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
Buy new: $29.49 / Used from: $9.42
Did you think a Chocobo didn't have the charisma to star in his own game? If so, why do you have to be right all the time?
Fire Emblem: Radiant DawnFire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Buy new: $64.48 / Used from: $37.45
I love Fire Emblem for a lot of reasons. But on the Wii I wish it would've tried to sport more excitement and flair than Checkers. (Look at games like Valkyria Chronicles.)
Muramasa: The Demon BladeMuramasa: The Demon Blade
Buy new: $10.76 / Used from: $8.49
I have nothing but good things to say about this game, except that all the voice acting is in Japanese and Legend of Mana on the PSX had better animation. If you like games like Samurai Showdown and action RPG's you'll love this.
Phantom Brave: We Meet AgainPhantom Brave: We Meet Again
Buy new: $23.40 / Used from: $15.00
Yipes! This is one needlessly complex strategy RPG. I guess you could pick it up if you missed it on the PS2 but there are better things to play on the Wii.
Marvel Ultimate AllianceMarvel Ultimate Alliance
Buy new: $38.99 / Used from: $6.98
Can't tell you how much better this is than MUA 2 on the Wii.
Alien SyndromeAlien Syndrome
Buy new: $8.16 / Used from: $1.58
PSP caliber game on the big screen is not such a good idea.
BaroqueBaroque
Buy new: $18.99 / Used from: $6.58
Old Sega Saturn action RPG remade for the PS2/Wii. Why would you want this over Fragile Dreams? If it's a money thing there is help available.
Valhalla Knights: Eldar SagaValhalla Knights: Eldar Saga
Buy new: $12.35 / Used from: $15.99
This game has been compared to Monster Hunter Tri. You might be better off with Monster Hunter instead. I mean you get a new classic controller too, right?
Spectrobes: OriginsSpectrobes: Origins
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $3.99
Features crisp graphics and large landscapes. Also nice use of motion control for a low price. It's basically a pocket monster game for the Wii with no competition. Where are you Pikachu?
Rune Factory: FrontierRune Factory: Frontier
Buy new: $17.28 / Used from: $16.00
All the adventure of dungeon crawling AND all the excitement of watching crops grow.
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the MoonFragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $19.00
The game play is very rough around the edges but it looks great and tells a crazy story to enjoy. Some gamers say Fragile Dreams is too depressing. I guess that depends on whether or not you find melodrama sad or hilarious.
Monster Hunter Tri Classic Controller BundleMonster Hunter Tri Classic Controller Bundle
Buy new: $28.45 / Used from: $28.44
Wii exclusive with awesome graphics. The single player campaign is just one "monster" sized tutorial for an online action RPG. Once you understand that you'll certainly appreciate what MH3 has to offer.
Super Paper MarioSuper Paper Mario
Buy new: $23.85 / Used from: $11.54
Awesome use of the Wiimote. I love Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door but this is kind of a boring action RPG. You also have to switch between characters constantly which was annoying.
Konami Lost in ShadowKonami Lost in Shadow
Buy new: $24.34
Another unconventional action RPG. Honestly, it feels more like a puzzle-platformer than an RPG. But it has so much in common with 2D action RPGs of the past (like Faxanadu on the VC) that I just had to put it up here.
Sakura Wars: So Long, My LoveSakura Wars: So Long, My Love
Buy new: $24.99 / Used from: $14.95
Awesome strategy game... dating RPG... whatever people want to call it. It's sort of Snatcher/Harvest Moon/Ogre Tactics all in one... there's nothing else quite like it on the Wii and it's not your typical RPG. It does have familiar RPG elements like plenty of dialogue options and 6 different endings.
Dokapon KingdomDokapon Kingdom
Buy new: $69.48 / Used from: $39.00
RPG themed party game. Probably the most unusual game on this list.
